Default Electra Glo bag lights: Control Module problem

On my 2014 FLHX I have the Electra Glo saddlebag lights on the rear of each bag. The lights are controlled by a module integrated with the wiring harness (included with the kit). I've recently added an accessory tour pak with side and taillight leds. I also have a Custom Dynamics flash module (set to flash 7 times then solid). I do not have the tour pack on the bike right now. I have taken the CD flash module off, and remove the tour pack harness.

Problem is that the right-side rear Electra Glo bag light will begin to flash with the turn signal, then slowly fall out-of-sync with the taillight and finally stop working. At this point the control module feels very hot (can touch/hold, but pretty hot). Once the module cools the light works correctly - and as it heats up begins the cycle again. The amount of time to heat up would be equal to sitting at a long light, or having to sit through a couple reds in a row.

Comment: there are three modules for different touring bikes. I have the one for street glides. Ultras (factory tour pack) have a different part number, as does the SE/Canadian models.
Concern: is my module just crapping out, or do I need an Ultra-type module since I now have a tour pack with extra lights.

Harley instructions here in reference the module/harness: https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....6?locale=en_US

I had a similar problem a few months after I installed mine. Only happened when the bike was up to operating temps. Took it to the dealer where I bought it and they exchanged the control module once he saw it malfunction. Mine would not light up one side. If yours are older that 1 year I think you are out of warranty for this.

Thanks for the reply. Have had for several years, so I'm on the hook for replacement. Been asking around whether adding the tour pack would change the harness to require an Ultra-type or not. Once I know that piece, will replace.
