I ran the Mobil V-Twin 20-50 and the valves rattled like hell. The engine sounded awful. Switched back to the SYN-3 and it runs quieter. I am running Red Line Synthetic Primary along with Red Line Synthetic Transmission with Shock Proof oils. It all is a personal preference deal. I do run the K-N Filters.
I've ran Mobil V-Twin 20-50 on the primary of shovelheads and my Evo bikes for many ,many miles and some friends have been running it their twin cam bikes for thousands of miles without any problem at all.
Question for primary. Manual shows drain plug location, and removal of clutch insp cover, but for refilling does not say how to check level. I assume, with bike level, I fill it to bottom clutch inspection opening?

You do not. That will be overfull
Observe the level on the hub ( derby cover off) prior to draining.
Add the # of ounces spec`d for your bike
Observe that the level is now close to first view
Ok glad I asked. I saw it's 38oz for "wet" refill. That surprised me, since trans only take 28oz. I figured would be the other way around. Ok so no real level mark. Thanks
