I gave up on trying to take care of spokes and wide whites a few years ago...much easier now. A little Blue Magic chrome polish, an old sock or two, and wheels are clean in no time at all!
I thought my bike was the best looking...guess I'm wrong...sweet ride.
I just bought a set of used stock mag wheels that I'm gonna put on my Road King. I'm having new bearings put in them as well as new tires. While the wheels are off the bike, I'm gonna clean and wax the snot out of them. I've done this before and they tend to stay clean longer as brake dust doesn't stick to them. Also different pads might help with the dust issue. Factory pads while they work fine, do seem to give off alot of dust. Harder pads might eat up the rotors, but softer compounds give off dust. I think Harley does that so they can sell more wheel cleaner.,,,

Why are you jacking it twice? Mine sits on the motorcycle jack the whole time I'm cleaning it. I only take the bags off every 4 or 5 washes. It not only makes it easier to clean the wheels, I don't have to bend down so far to clean the engine.

You were the guy in school...always prepared, made the A's, slide rule on the hip - all kidding aside...that is the way to go...my scissor jack is only few inches wide...not sure if it will raise the entire bike - but, I'll give it a try. Nicely done, very nicely done.
I put on a pair of inexpensive cotton chore gloves. Dip both hands in a bucket of hot soapy water and clean with two hands instead of one.
A jack, and a rolling shop stool makes it quick work.
Are those chore gloves like soft cotton? My Harley wash mitt is too big and bulky for doing the wheels, not to mention like 15 times more expensive, lol!

Yes, soft cotton flannel with the fleece on the outside. I use them to wash the entire bike, not just the wheels. They will wear out after awhile, especially at the fingertips, but they're inexpensive enough to occasionally replace.
