Default Cleaning Wheels

Greetings,

Was wondering how riders are cleaning their wheels. I have a '19 Street Glide Special and the wheels pick up a lot of dust (brake, belt and road) after short rides. Jacking up the SG (once in the back and again in the front) makes cleaning the wheels easier. I typically use a microfiber towel with a no rinse cleaner. Is there a more efficient way of cleaning the wheels? Thanks.

If by "more efficient" you mean to not have to manually clean them, I haven't found a way. I do use spray on wheel cleaning products that are safe for powder coated wheels, but I still have to use a wheel brush, a rag and elbow grease.

I just bought a set of used stock mag wheels that I'm gonna put on my Road King. I'm having new bearings put in them as well as new tires. While the wheels are off the bike, I'm gonna clean and wax the snot out of them. I've done this before and they tend to stay clean longer as brake dust doesn't stick to them. Also different pads might help with the dust issue. Factory pads while they work fine, do seem to give off alot of dust. Harder pads might eat up the rotors, but softer compounds give off dust. I think Harley does that so they can sell more wheel cleaner.,,,

I gave up on trying to take care of spokes and wide whites a few years ago...much easier now. A little Blue Magic chrome polish, an old sock or two, and wheels are clean in no time at all!

I had the same issue. So I decided less spokes is more!
