Thanks Mike. I watched a youtube video the other day and one guy said the ferrite choke didn't work. Another video went over what we have already discussed about the charger itself. He recommended a charger. Mine arrived today and I tested it out, and so far it seems to be doing well. I only did a simple test. Found a station that when the phone was being charged went to static, then swapped the chargers. This was with out the bike running, but the station stayed full strength. If any one is interested, or having the same problem, I would suggest the RavPower prime24W 2-port car charger. Got mine from amazon for $8.

better yet, open the fairing and replace the shitty cig lighter (useless for cigs anyway) and put in a dual USB outlet. $15. Done. Uses existing wiring in the fairing

Now, I'm a ham radio operator, so I understand wavelength and what not. What I DON'T get is how the cigarette socket has anything to do with the radio antenna. If they were connected, then the added length of my charge cord could easily throw off antenna wave length. I'm sure I am missing something but not sure what.

can’t help ya but wanted to say hi de VA7UY
