My newly acquired 2019 Electra Glide Ultra Classic has the rear wheel valve stem right in the middle of the rim and facing directly towards the axle instead of off to the side like the front wheel. The brake disk on the right side also limits access to the valve stem and the belt and pulley on left side blocks the use of a common gauge.
What do y'all use for a tire gauge brand and style to check the back wheel tire pressure? I have 5 different gauges and not one of them will fit securely onto the valve and I lose air trying.
The flex extension is long enough. H-D and any auto parts store or amazon sell them. Put it on first and use any gauge you want. I keep it in my tool kit just in case.
Interesting. I just use a pencil gauge on my 19 limited and carefully angle it away so the measuring stick doesn't hit anything.
PITA, but not that big of a deal.
I did get a motion pro air chuck with a swiveling head so I could get air in the tire more easily.
I use one those old pencil type gauges as well, just have to take your time to angle it properly so it doesnt hit anything. Just ordered a motion pro air chuck to hopefully make putting air in less of a pain.
I hear ya OP. Never had a problem using a 45° chuck or gauge on my older bikes. My 2018 FLHXS has the valve stems in the centerline of rims that are perpendicular to the axles, and it was literally impossible to use my 45° chuck. Took the 45° chuck off my inflator/gauge, and insalled a 90° chuck. Easy access now.
