Corbin Customer Service?????
PICKY, I don't think so. I only used Ford because the Bozo used Ford. Being a GM guy, if my GM seat breaks, they replace the seat.Replacing the seat covering of a broken seat will not fixthe seat.
I don't know how to word this better, but I will try. the base, i.e, the frame of the seat of which everything (foam and covering) are affixed. It is one solid continuous piece. The leading edge of the base under thearm rest is miss formed, or not properly rounded and/or prepped. Stretch what ever you like over a sharp exposed edge of a defective base and it will will cut through the covering material.
can they fix it? yes! could I fix myself? Yes, if I had identified the flaw before the covering was cut through.and I would have fixed it myself. I religiously try to avoid warranty service when ever possible. I'd rather do it and myself and avoid the inevitable hassles and down time. I ride mine to and from work any time I can.It is not just a hobby toy to me. It is my preferred means oftransportation.
FYI,the Corbin back rest does not exactly fit or cover where the factory back restsits. run with the OME back restfor a hundred miles and the paint is scuffed under where it sits/rubs on the Tour Pack. put the Corbin on and the scuff marks are not covered. Not to worry, I just finished usinga few feet ofelectrical tape, protecting the painted surfaces, and the OME is reinstalled. And that fine $450 dollar Corbin back rest is bungied to theluggage rack.
you are correct, I did a lot of research and pricing. on line I had found a source for the tour pack backrest at $275. when I ordered the dual tour seat at Corbin I asked about the tour pack back rest and the salesman was dismayed (embarrassed) over the nearly doubling in price for the backrest in the precedingweek. So I ordered the seat from Corbin and planned to order the on-line back rest. I came home that day andordered the on-line backrest.Two days later the vendor emailed backtherehad been a dramatic increase in price and the backrest was now $425 plus shipping. I canceled that on-line order and bought directly from Corbin when I returned for the once a year opportunity for on-site adjustments.
still PICKY. yea I guess. they will tear it apart, grind off the protruding edge, and then bastard up the upholstery, and it will never lookright again. But I guess I could justcover it up with my boat cover.

I was very seriously considering ordering one of Corbin's touring seats, but not now. I would NEVER spend one dime with Corbin if that's how they treat their customers. Take your money and run seems to be their policy. Guess what? Not my money...[sm=smiley21.gif]
Once again;
CORBIN SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:@]
With their "don't waste my time if you're only investigating and not buying" attitude at the June Americade. Pardon me...I'll just try those Saddlemen seats over there while you tend to another purchaser.
And the jackass I spoke to on the phoneinFla. about modifications they were unwilling to do..."that's how they come"
The Ca. guy I complained to was nice..(gee! unfortunately Mike Corbin was in a 'meeting')...SO....for less than what it would cost me to take time off and ride in to California from Canada, I boughta leather Saddlemen Roadsofa, and the accompanying trunkrestcover to cover my $50 roadrashed swapmeet special trunkpad that sitson the $100 swapmeet special roadrashed reglassed and repainted tourpack, and it will do me 1000 mile days, and what I saved just on corbins trunkpad cost got me heating; a cover; and now I have funds leftto geta viberider to keep my passenger awake.

The Corbin Dual Touring seat on my brother's Road King had me squirming after the first hour and crying like a baby after the second hour. I absolutelywouldn't own one!
"It'll be more comfortable ina couple thousand miles after it breaks in??" [:'(][:@][:'(]
Bullsheet!!
I'll take a Mustang that's comfortable as hell from the first time you sit onit, and stays that way as long as you own it.
