I see things havent changed at Corbin. I had a similar situation with a different seat, a "close solo" for a 99 RKC. I would rehash the details, but they are almost identical to yours. Bottem line it took forever to get the seat back, they had no qualms about not holding to the date of return they told me. Had to go on my once a year long cycle trip without it. Very unhappy. That said, its a two edged sword. I can honestly say I love the seat once I got it back. I recently upgraded to an 07 RKC and put my close solo from the 99 on the 07 and its awesome. I think Corbin in the end makes a great seat, but their customer service is horrible. Which is not acceptable considering how much you pay for their seats.
I also ran into the same problem of the near doubling of the price ofa seat I wanted for another bike. Went from mid $200s to Mid $400s in one year. I wrote them a nasty letter telling them I hope they give all their low level employees a huge raise for what they want for their seats! Did nothing but made me feel better. Bottem line: Great seat, horrible customer service if you need it. Too bad.
Well it's now one week after they said they were shipping your tourpack backrest. Did you get it? I'm betting not. Gotta Love Corbin Customer Service..[sm=boosign.gif]
on 8/29, prezackly thirty days from when I drove south to Ormond Beach Fl (7/29), my refurbished Ultra Classic passenger back rest arrived at the homestead in JAX FL as the man form Corbin said, you kept your OEM backrest didn't you? and it's a good thing I did. how can you squawk against a 30 day turn around?
Although therefurbishment looks great, I still feelthe same sharp edges on the base pan that cut through originally. It's pretty certain I will have to tear the passenger backrest apart and pad the sharp edges from the inside.why couldn't they think of that?
I have purchased many corbin products over the years but their customer service really sucks. They will not get any more of my money. I don't live in Ca. and will not drive there so they can make a product that I will like. Maybe they need to sell only in Ca...
Good to see this thread....was thinking of going Corbin.....NOT ANYMOME!!!!Thanks oley55You may have saved some of us from a headache...I feel your pain.... Ed.
Looked at corbin when at Sturgis and planned on ordering one. Will now go with Mustang. They will let you try it out and if not happy you can mail back for a full refund. By the way, bought a bus for my business and three months later the seat broke. The company took a seat out of another new bus and replaced my defective seat. That's called customer service. I guess some people settle for less.
Bought a Corbin Dual Tour. Was flawed. Never rode it. They would not refund my $$$. Bought a Mustang. Love it. Every time I look at the Corbin I get mad all over again.

so why don't you have them fix it under warranty and then sell it? at least you can get some (or most) of your money back instead of it just sitting in the garage.
I just saw this post after I bought the seat the driver back rest and the trunk back rest, thanks for heads up I will keep an eye out for a problem.
My real concern is how the trunk backest mounts to the trunk lid with justthree bolts, Harley had six bolts, and these rubber snubbers to cushion the movement of the backrest against the trunk lid.
I hope the changes from Corbindo not cause stress to the trunk lid, cracking etc.
Anyone had any problems so far with this?
You are right there is an attitude at Corbin like we are idiots whe we call.
