Default Ignition Switch Installation

Having a bitch of a time installing my ignition key **** on my '07 FLHX. I took it off easy enough pressing the small button on the back and following the instructions.
However, getting her back on is not easy. I followed the manual but no luck. I know there is an additional tool that may have to be purchased to do this. Any tips or hints on getting this baby back on ASAP?

I just had mine off, I have 04 roadglide. Unsure if they have changed since then. Install the switch with red arrow pointing to the acc, then have your barrel key in the switch and push the key down and turn, I also hit the little button underneath at the same time. I did not experience any difficulty, nor any special tool required.

Check to make sure your bars are fully to the left. It should simply drop back into place...

If ya got the cams ourt of alignment, it can be a pain. Use a very small screwdriver and a pen light to line em back up.

Also, if you used the switch to unlock the forks once it was removed, make sure you turn it back (the switch on the inside) to the locked position.

I just had mine off of a 2001 EG and also had problems getting it back on. The reason was that the button on the back was not allowing the lock cam to move all the way in. I took the back off the switch, sprayed it with WD40 and cleaned it up. Be careful of the little spring inside, it likes to fly around. After putting it back together, I turned the key in the switch to move the cam and pushed the button in with a screwdriver while turning the key a little more. Then I put it on with no problem.
