Default ignition switch ,problem

09 FLHX I'm trying to put the ignition switch back in place but for some reason when I drop it back down in will not drop "all" the way back down. I have the forks locked. It drops down the first notch but won't drop in the last one, is there a certain combination I am not getting ?

Did you follow the Service manual procedure to remove it and are you using the alignment tool?

yes, but I'm not sure alignment is the problem. I could take the nut off the top of the switch and it drops right in and works fine, It just seems the ignition switch when I turn it to unlock it wont pull the latch back far enough to let it drop

Did you try moving the handlebars slightly?
