Wonder how old that brochure is? It mentioned Buell using the belts, and Buell has been gone quite a while.

Wonder no more. The Sturgis was introduced in 1980.

Well I finally got around to tearing down my Ultra. Will change the front pulley & it needs to be shimmed out 1/8". I bought a belt laser to make sure that when I welded the rear swing arm it was straight. It showed that the inner pulley needs to come out 1/8" so I hope that is possible. I don't know if a later front pulley sits out farther & will bolt up or if I can just shim it. Will find out. I am thinking that when my air ride air line got rubbed & my bike dropped down if that caused the belt to go bad or not. But I remember leaving the gas station & I cranked on the throttle, it felt like the belt slipped, so it may have been the start of the belt going bad. It might be a while until I get the funds to get it back together. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, just hope it isn't another train.

Toby
