2020 Street Glide with stock bars. I’m 6’3” and long waisted, so 6’5” for the purposes of this discussion.
I also have a Mustang Solo seat which pushes me back on the bike about 1.5", and sits a bit taller. Stock bars ain’t gettin' it. I’m thinking I’d like bars about 4” taller, but haven’t ridden one like that. I like a traditional look like the stock bars, but they are just not comfortable to me.
Which bars should I be looking at for comfort? Mini Apes? I’m assuming I’ll need to change brake and clutch lines while I’m at it, and mirrors.
The tall boy bars from HD say they are for riders 5’11” to 6’3”. That’s already too short for me, which is why I am wondering if MiniApes would be better.
What else do I need to be thinking about before I start zeroing in on a parts list?
I'm 6'5" and I used the Tall Boy bars on my Limited. No change in brake or clutch lines required and they made a tremendous difference in comfort. Don't read too much into the 6'3" thing. You'll love 'em, and besides, that's actually how tall you really are.

Good to know. Less is more if it means less drama by not having change out those lines. Were you able to stay with the rest of the stock wiring, etc?
You can put 10 or 12 inch bars on and not have to do anything but add extension wires. If you put 14 inch or higher you will need to change the brake and clutch lines out. I put 10" KST Mayhem baggers on my 2017 and they work great for me. The higher you go the more your hands will be in the wind in the winter also.
I'm 6'4" and I put 10" KST six bends on mine and didn't' have to extend the wiring harness. They sit a little taller than the factory tall boy bars and they're dead simple to put on. KST even has an install video on the site to walk you through it. Best mod I've made to the bike so far for the sake of comfort.
I put 10" on my 18 street glide. I didn't haveto put new lines on and rode it for a couple months before I did put a new clutch line on. It was just pulled tighter than I was comfortable with. I didn't buy extensions for the wiring. I just took a couple hours and spliced in 8" of new wire (staggered connections) with solder and shrink. I'm 5'9" and have the stock seat. I found that 10" is still enough behind the fairing to reduce the wind on my hands (ride in the cold sometimes). Before you buy, go to a dealership and start looking at the used bikes. Find one where the bars are even with the top of the fender and one that the bars are about 1.5" above. Sit on both and get an idea of where your hands will be. I thought I wanted 12s before I did this very thing.
Like others have said, the 10-inch bars (I also used KST Mayhem Baggers) are a great fit. I am also 6'3" and long in torso, so the stock bars on the 2014 Limited were causing me some pain. I wanted to keep my grips close to the fairing to maintain the benefit of the wind break, so did not go taller. I run the same bar in 16-inch on my RK, but a different story. The 10-inch bars sit me up straight and I can ride the bike all day long with no discomfort. They look great too. I did change my clutch hose at the time, but that was because of damage. For the wiring, I got the extenders KST sells ($50 for wires w/heated grips) and they really made the job a lot easier. No issues with the brake line reaching.
If you get the 10" bars you'll likely need to do something about the mirrors as well. KST makes some brackets that drop the mirrors down so you can actually see them. I think if you go 12" or taller, this won't be an issue as your hands will not be covering up the mirrors like they would with 10" bars.
KST lists how high you can go with stock cables. And like someone already said, they have an installation video that walks you through how to do it. Pretty easy if you just follow the video.
If you haven't already, check out Traveling Tall on YouTube. He put 10" KST 6-bends on his Street Glide and he's 6'5". He worked with the KST guys and told them he didn't want to have his hands above the fairing, and the 10" bars with the mirror extenders was what they recommended and installed for him.
