Too bad about extras you didn't want. At least they teased you about their quality and customer service.

I rode my King with the Monterey solo cross-country a few years ago (NC - CA). I also have an Aviator on my Sporty, and have taken that to FL a couple of times with my riding buddies.

Thanks! So far I do like it a lot, but it has only been quick spins so far. Looking forward to giving it a real test. Of course J&P Cycles has a no returns policy once it's mounted so I sure hope to like it.

Looks, quality, etc are all winners for me for sure though. The one gripe I have is that the way they do their front connection point it has about a 1/4" of side to side play in it. But once you sit on it the downward force makes it a non issue (it's not moving under me).

Damn...that is some trip man. Great to hear the seat worked out for a trip like that! I have to say though, it does feel little firm to the touch lol. I just condition my butt cheeks

If you’re coming from a stock seat, the Le Pera is going to feel like a wood bench. The foam is more than adequately thick, but it’s extremely firm. That said, the more time you spend on it the more normal....and then tolerable....and then semi-comfortable it becomes. I really like mine after 250 miles.

And that said: Just today my wife and I took the seat, rider backrest and tour pak pad to Custom Stitching Co in Charlotte, NC. We met with the owner and made a plan for doing a completely custom restyling of everything, using high quality leather and Alcantara suede. We were able to pick our design pattern and thread colors. Steve is basically a master artist and rare talent when it comes to working with leather. I’m really cranked up to see what he does for our ride. I think the RT66 will really lend itself to custom styling.

Sorry to hear about the studs, I'm sure they will re-do it, but of course you'll lose time, but it's gonna be worth the wait, you already know that.

They actually shipped my seat with a black backrest bracket even though it stated chrome on the invoice. No problem to get the chrome one sent out of course, and I'm really loving the seat, yes it's firm, but I ride a carbon fiber bicycle with a smallish saddle and my definition of firm has changed quiet a bit.

Good luck on getting your seat sorted out, they'll do you right.

Took my Rt 66 for it's maiden long voyage yesterday and I have to say it performed great!

600 miles in 10.5 hours and I never once had any butt pain or felt the need to squirm around. I did confirm that I am not a backrest guy, but I pretty much already knew that going into it. The purchase was more about finding a good 2-up touring seat that also worked well for me solo and looked good. I think the LePera nails that.

Very pleased.

Similar quest for a few of us. And completely agree!

I am so glad to hear! I can't wait for my seat to get here so I can try it. It's encouraging to hear positive feedback.

Wow, that's one gorgeous seat! The Daytona was my first choice, it looks so awesome, but felt a bit narrow to me so I went a size up with the Outcast.

Congrats, you have 1 sharp looking ride!!!
