I have an RT66 on the way. I can't tell you it's the best seat or it's better than "x-seat", but I've been very pleased working with Le Pera over the past few years on two other seats and decided to give them a shot at a new touring seat.

I currently have a recovered / re-cushioned stock Ultra Classic seat. It gets the job done, but I don't love it so I started looking at the RT66. The RT66 has a very-large driver and passenger seating area. Also, the driver seat position feels like a Street Glide rather than an Ultra - there's a bit more reach to the bars (I ride SG that pretends to be an Ultra Classic from time to time).

Before committing to a custom seat, I asked Le Pera to have a "blank" shipped to me to test under my butt and check the seat profile on my bike BEFORE ordering the custom covered seat. It is essentially the foam and seat pan without a seat cover. After seeing it on my bike I was surprised at how good it looked - much less bulky / bulbous than my current touring seat. My wife and I gave it a quick "test-fit" but did not ride for any serious length off time. I sent it right back with a big "YES - LET'S GO" and I am eagerly awaiting my custom seat to be complete.

I have a Le Pera Daytona 2-up and a Villain solo seat, both with their "biker gel" inserts. Their seats are stiffer / harder than others and they take time to break-in. That said, I've routinely had 3+ hours in the Villain and more in the Daytona so I am confident my butt will be happy in the RT66 for the longer hauls. Their quality and attention to detail has been flawless in my experience with them.

My RT66 is expected in a few weeks - happy to share pics when it arrives. Good luck with your search.

I'd love to see the pics of the seat installed .I'm on a
Limited so the Street Glide seating position might be
what I need . I had my seat redone completely maybe
35,000 miles ago & cover already wearing out . Never
been really happy with position either . I'm especially
interested in passenger comfort too . Mama don't ride
as much as she used to , but still got to keep her happy .

I am on a Limited as well and SG seating position would have to help get me off the tank.

Are you getting the seating surface covered in leather? I would like to know how much extra that cost. I just emailed them but curious if you know

care to comment on seating position? Compared to which stock seat. What do you have now? Better or not?

Leather seating surfaces with inlay. It will be a similar design to my Le Pera Daytona seat:

At the end of the day, the price of the seat is nearly doubled for my design options.

Heard from Le Pera today - my RT66 ship date is 11/20. I’ll share pics and additional thoughts once it arrives.
