What did they say when you contacted them about the failure...??

Or did you just sent it back without talking with them first.....???

If so.... I hope you at least gave them the courtesy of including a note, or maybe even a copy of your receipt.....

My experience with Cycle Electric products is the opposite of yours. '08 FLHT, new CE stator, and CE reg/rec, been on for about a year of regular usage, including a 2,000+ mile road trip with everything weather wise from hot, sunny days, to getting snow and rain. Both have performed flawlessly.

I sent them the defective unit, included a note detailing who I purchased from and the measured voltages of the installed regulator. Postal tracking showed it was delivered to them. No response of any kind.

Most electrical parts vendors will have a statement about the warranty and if they can ascertained the part was installed and failed then their policy is "well how do we know your bike electrics didn't damage it?" I have a C/E regulator on my 02 Dyna I installed prior to Sturgis in 2007. No problems. Went through two regs. from HD in 5 years. Just read their warranty statement on their web site seems pretty fair to me. Maybe it was the way the person who had problems with C/E approached the company. Or was it purchased through an after market supplier?

I don't cry over spilt milk. I took the $ 160 dollar hit. Installed a cheap J&P cycles unit after the CE unit and everything is still good. What really sours me on them , is no communication at all, they had my phone #, my email and my home address.

I've had good luck with their products, but I've never needed customer service... it could be their customer service is lacking.. I don't really know..

Their warranty is pretty self explanatory...

"Warranty
All Cycle Electric Inc. products are guaranteed for two years. Any Cycle Electric Inc. product found to be defective within two years of the original purchase date should be returned freight paid to 8734 Dayton Greenville Pike, Brookville OH 45309. We will repair or replace it.

Exclusions
Cycle Electric Inc. will not be found responsible for damage due to physical impact, internal tampering or faulty regulation from regulators not manufactured by Cycle Electric Inc."

It's possible they have been dealing with issues from the Covid restrictions, like a lot of businesses.. I would have followed up with a phone call, or even called first..

Anyways, it's too late now for that.... you chose to replace it on your own...

Glad you got your bike up and running..
