"Once a season I give my scoot a shot or two of Seafoam"

Does the Harley manual written by the engineers tell you to do that?

No, and the Harley manual written by engineers doesn't tell you many things, having the ability to apply common sense is priceless.

I'm not mocking it, just have a different way of coping with it.

It’s a shame there is nothing available today that can measure white knuckles & big a$$ smiles.
The MOCO "engineers" did not come up with that design voluntary. They were mandated by the EPA to control emissions. This is the best that the "engineers" could come up with. It's not like from 1903 to1984 all of a sudden the engineers had a "eurika" moment. Oh. Wow. Instead of venting leftover engine vapors and oil to the atmosphere. Lets just reintroduce all of that leftover crap back into the combustion chamber. Yeah. Right

This comment isn't intended for this discussion.. but ...

The term "common sense" is being thrown around a lot these days in all kinds of discussions... all too often, people use that term in an attempt to validate their opinions, or to invalidate an opposing opinion..

FWIW... Common sense is subjective, it is not objective...

What defines common sense, is your acceptance or rejection of a given premise.... it is not an absolute standard ..

Phew... I got that off my chest...

Carry on with your discussion...

The automotive industry incorporated the PCV system September 1960, previously 1942 to 1959 it was the draft tube that has been renamed by a Harley aftermarket franchises called the catch can.
Harley engineers didn't need to re-event the wheel in record time, they just needed to use one of the thousands of PVC systems that were presently in use.

Its not rocket science....lol

Is that a Panhead you have there!!!.....Nice

Taken from the Cambridge Dictionary

Common Sense is the basic level of practical knowledge and judgment that we all need to help us live in a reasonable and safe way: Example 1: Windsurfing is perfectly safe as long as you have / use some common sense.
