Here is a link to the Boom! manual. As mentioned, first Bluetooth pair your phone. Go to Home>Setup>Bluetooth Setup (pg 89 in the manual). Then once your phone is paired go to Home>Media> and select your Bluetooth connected phone (see page 80 of the manual)
Welcome & congrats on the new bike...you picked a good one!! Do as hamah has instructed to get your phone paired up. This will allow you to stream & enjoy music from your phone...be it Spotify, Pandora, music stored on your phone, etc.
That being said, I believe the "Comm" will continue to be greyed out as your bike in it's current state does not support "Comm" (rider to passenger communication) like the Limited's & Ultra's with front & rear headset plug-ins.
When I go to setup it does not show a option for Bluetooth. Could it be that his bike does not have it?

The bike should have bluetooth and you should be able to get it from: Home...Setup...Bluetooth. Also look in the right glove compartment and see if you have a usb connection for a phone/media player.
