Default Milwaukee 8 Cam

Good morning folks. I joined this group in hopes I would get an honest opinion. I have a 2020 Street Glide 114 completely stock as we speak. Have been pondering the issue of putting a cam in it. Has any put the 515 in, new springs and tuned . And of course the exhaust and air intake system. I’ve seen a lot of pros and cons. Just looking for suggestions for giving her some pep without changing the heads. Trying to keep a 2000 limit. Thanks

General consensus will be this.
With HD parts and HD tune you will get a bump in performance, an EPA legal tune and maintain your HD warranty.

The other side of the coin is this.
Aftermarket cam, tuner, exhaust and air cleaner. The first two items will void your warranty, but you will, without a doubt, get better performance than canned HD parts and tune.

How much better? Depends on the package you select and the tuner you use.

You ride, your money, your call.

And...welcome to the forums.

Unless you ride consistently above 4000 rpms, the 498 and bigger SE cams are going to put most of what you paid for, where you don't ride. The 515's and now 517's are more useful in you mid to upper 12x cu/in builds and beyond. The 447 "IMO" are better suited to what the greatest percentage of riders would want, in still keeping your warranty in tact.

Are you concerned about keeping the warranty or are you considering aftermarket?

I would like to stick with my warranty if possible. Stuck with SE if I do?

I have a 2018 Ultra Limited (107 M8) and I started off doing Stage I (air cleaner) & Stage II (SE Torque cam) with a SE tuner with the SE full exhaust. That made a nice difference but ended up wanting more. So I later opted for the Stage III kit (114) which I like very much. Nice sound and more of a Harley sound/idle. All of which was done at Lynchburg HD and is under warranty. I couldn't bite the bullet to possibly void my warranty by going another route. I rode a 131 crate in a SGS and liked it as well too but more than what I need. There are many routes to take....choices, choice, choices. If I had to go back to square 1 and do it again, I'd go Stage III and save me some money vs doing it the way I did. I know this is exceeding your 2000 limit but where do you want to be down the road?

Well looking for longevity. Had a 13 SG with some work to it. I know the 114 is capable of doing a lot better. Just don’t want to pull the trigger on a wrong set up and a waste of money.

I did the Harley torque cam. SE tune, stock header and RCX slip ons. Kept warranty and noticed big change.
Warranty up early June so winter work is FuelMoto header / exhaust and Powervision
