Kept a battery tender on the bike when not riding. Bike was parked middle of December till Febuary 10th. Started bike up and moved it out to the driveway using the kill switch to shut off. Went to start it up…turned ignition on, fuel pump kicks on, hit starter, and engine turns over but does not start. Tried it several times and the battery got week. Put it on a tender for 5 hours, shows green for the battery, same result and pushed it into the garage.
Thinking it was a battery issue I orders a drag specialties Premium AGM battery with 500 CCA. Testing the old HD battery with my testing and its showing 12.87. New battery is showing 12.88. On start up same result, but now shows LO RNG on the odometer. Went in to check the error codes and they are clear. Battery is now reading 12.61 and is back on a tender to charge. Gas gauge shows ¾ of a tank. Can hear gas sloshing around when I check the tank. Battery connections are tight. Negative connection to the frame is tight. No security system installed so its not a FOB battery issue.
Thought I would top off the tank to verify its not low causing the LO RNG. What else to check?

He says the starter kicks in but does not start. I’m guessing you mean it turns over like a good battery would do. Not just a few up and down strokes of the pistons before it’s dead.
Battery tenders don’t do anything to bad battery. It will show charged but not have the amps to start a bike.

Yes, the starter kicks in and it turns over like it should start, like with a good battery. I have a new battery also. Took it to autozone and it tested good. Thanks for the input.
You pull plug wires to check for spark while turning it over? Pull plugs, smells like fuel? Pull air filter and attempt to start, any different? Try a little starting fluid and see if you get fire, shouldn't be on this new of a bike but maybe fuel pressure is low.
Did you store the bike with ethanol gas? Did you add a fuel stabilizer? When ethanol gas first came out I had to have several small engine carbs rebuilt. Including my Kawasaki Vulcan 750.
I always store my bike with nonethanol gas, and add a fuel stabilizer. Otherwise the gas gets gummy.
