I really like the look of that but have a couple questions... When you drilled the holes through your fender, how did you protect the exposed metal after drilling the hole? Some type of clear coat or...? Also, which reverse tail light lens did you get, if you don't mind?

There's a video somewhere that shows you how to flip the plate bracket that comes with the TourPak relocation kit upside down so the plate is below the light. Then you would need to swap out the tail light lens with a window on the bottom for illumination. This was one of my biggest headaches when I bought my Road Glide Limited. There just aren't many good options for the stock rear fender and I agree that the plate mounted above the light with the TourPak removed looks terrible.

I found this on youtube.

The problem is with this option, I have to contend with the bullet style rear turn signals. It's a 2012 Ultra Classic so it originally had that straight bar for turn signals under the rear brake like but I converted it to the bullet style. I don't think this adaptation will work because those are there.

Matter of fact, I'm not sure HD_Noobie's option will work either. Might not be enough space between that turn signal mount and the fender tip light. I'll need to do a bit of rulerin'.

Sounds like you have the Street Glide bullet turn signals? If so, you could get the Street Glide plate bracket, as it attaches to the turn signal bar.

There should be a place to add a license plate light in the turn signal bar too, or you could swap tail lamps to get the the bottom-side clear lens.

All this assumes you will clear the fender tip light, but I'm betting you'll have clearance as the Street Glide plate bracket would tuck the plate up a little higher.

Let me know if you want a parts diagram and part numbers and I can post that info too.

I had some thin stainless plate that I cut to fit around the tail light and drilled it to mount with the turnsignal bar. I put some stainless bolts through from the back and put acorn nuts on the outside to hold the plate. Then I got an LED strip light and put it on the bottom side of the turn signal bar to light up the plate. I also replaced the tail light lens with 1 from a street glide to get rid of the clear plate window. I've been using this setup for the last 5 years and 3 different states plates, without any issues.

I'm running bullet rear turn signals - part number 68615-04. So, you're saying there's a direct fitment for a license plate to that bar? That would really be something, I think. If you know the part number, I'd love to check it out.

Cant you use one of those that bolt to the 2 bolts for the light bar?
Then a lit frame, and a taillight lens without a tag window... or the lay down lens with a bottom window and a LED bulb

This is exactly what I did with my previous 2012 UC. Got the SG bullet style rear turn signal used here in the classified. It had the tag light built into it. I then added the HD curved licence plate frame...used here as well.
I think it was this one...https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ame/p/67900008
I was even able to tie the tag light from the turn signal bar into the wiring for the fender tip light. It was a bit of a chore but was able to do it. Next, I found a used solid tail light lens to finish it off.
You could also go with the lighted curved frame if you'd like...https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ing/p/67900275
Good Luck!
