DK Customs has a really good LED replacement headlamp bulb that I really like a lot! Would highly recommend looking into them and their other offerings. Depending on the size you are requiring you might be able to check your local Autozone or Napa and look at OEM replacement LED bulbs (Sylvania or the like) as I have had luck using them in my turn signals and brake lamps.
What I know is the led lights are not seen well in the day. and at night there are dark spots as there are cut off points. The h4/9003 works better then all my buddys leds.. Just our riding opinion.. LED seems to be a fad.
I has the osram HD basic and its bright. I have the motovision with the orange hue going in as the replacment when this one burns out.
I tried many many halogen bulbs, including upping the wattages, Hella motorsports, OSRAM, even a high end HID retrofit (Was the brightest, but a maintainability issue with ballasts and igniters every 10-12 months), etc and THOUGHT my lights were bright. I finally got tired of changing bulbs and put Rogue Riders LED headlight and spots in. (I dont like the halo in the HogWorx) Much brighter and longer throw day or night. It doesnt even compare. Maybe, the LED lights youve been comparing to are older technology, or eBay specials?
thats what I have in mine and LOVE it! Something to be aware of is that some the mounting pressure s included with HogWorkz light where others you have to get them separate, which add more $$$, so when looking dive a bit deeper into the details from each manufacturer.
