Glad he figured it out. I knew it didn't make sense, thought you were pulling my leg. It's all good

Did HD change him 1 hour labor or 4 hours for trouble shooting.

Now somebody should turn off his kill switch while he isn't looking.

Bad memories....!!!! I never used that thing... just the key... Until.....

Many years ago, I used to brag I could start my 1980 FXS on the second kick, cold or warm..... While out socializing with friends (a politically acceptable way of saying we were drinking), a buddy called BS on my 2 kick starts and bet me I couldn't...

After the 8th kick, I was completely frustrated and bewildered....... He casually walked over and flipped on my kill switch....

Hey, even flooded it only took 3 kicks to get it going...!!! But the bet was already lost...... I forget what it cost me...

Do you remember the thread about the guy whose bike shut off on the interstate at 80mph and didn't know why, and didn't know what a kill switch was because he always shut his bike off with the key?

Not specifically. I learned the hard way also. I bumped the switch without realizing it once during a stop. Could not find the problem where I was so called the wife to bring the car and a long rope. We towed it home, fortunately, only about 5 miles. Back in the garage I was getting ready to tear into the electrical system when I finally noticed the switch position. Put it back in "Run" and all was well. A year or so later, while on a group ride, a co-worker turned off my kill switch thinking it would be entertaining. After the previous experience, checking the kill switch is trouble shooting step ONE when things don't respond in the usual way. Guess the quick solution was a bit of a let down for him.

I once had a kill switch ground out on a dirt bike. Fortunately I was a teen and still smart enough to just unplug it and keep riding.
Much older now, would probably attempt to use logic and check for fuel delivery, failed programmer, then spark, only then look at the low or no cost solution...

well i'm having this problem with odometer adding miles, just ddid a 600 mile trip that registered over 6000 miles, checked all the wiring and finally undone the battery and it did ok, then drove it across the driveway to wash it and it put on 1000 miles.2013 ultra classic with a 104,000 miles now showing 111,000. Medallion guages been in for 7 years. not going to sell, just like to keep up with miles on trips and for service
