Default Ignition on wire question

I am thinking of one of those Kuryakyn sound bars for my 2018 Road King (no opinions on the sound please). I also don't necessarily want to get a harley wiring harness add on update/upgrade. So the question is, on a 2018 RK where is the best place to tap a wire for ignition on for this speaker? Any help woudl be greatly apprciated.

Not 100 % sure , but you should have a power source in your headlight , two open leads you can use to power it . Hopefully another member will chime in and verify that .

Thank you for the response. I'm trying to avoid taking the headlight apart. Hoping there is a wire to tap under the seat where I'll run the wires from the speaker.

You should have two leads under the seat as well for a heated seat etc , if you don't have a wiring diagram , there is a hd web site you can go to and see it there , never been there myself , so maybe someone will post a link .

Thank you. Unfortunately, to me, reading this diagram is like reading a foreign language.

If anyone has a picture or good description of where and what the wire looks like I would greatly appreciate it

I looked at the wiring diagram I linked to, but the diagrams for Touring Models only shows for fairing and non-faring bikes and, at best, which diagram goes to a 2018 Road King is still confusing.

Look under the seat for a V/BE (violet/blue) wire. I believe that is P&A accessory switched power wire. If you have a 12VDC test light, test the wire to be sure it is only powered when the ignition switch is "on". If it is, use the provided t-tap on the wire and connect the orange wire from the sound bar to it.

Of course, the red (fused) wire and the black wire go to the battery.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for the violet/blue wire is the one.
