I am considering a purchase of a Utimate seat to replace the Mustang on my 2006 Street Glide. The Mustang is a nice seat but as many have pointed out for some it moves you forward and up alittle off the ground.
I have hear from other threads the Ultimate seat is very comfortable, sits back (at least like your stock) and the riders backrest has the capability to adjust to go back 2 additional inches.
Acouple of question to those ridden or purchased this seat.
1) Do you find it comfortable and did it keep you back and lowered.
2) Can you get these seats thru anyone except Ultimate. Any good Web site or reputable dealers out their to compare prices. I know the Ultimate Site offers a full 14 day quarantee if you do not like it you can return it for a full refund. Not many will do that.
I'm still using the stock seat for my 07 ultra. I had an 02 ultra and purchased Harleys Zeppelin air seat. I liked theair seat a lot better than the stock one.It still created a few pressure points but overall I was able to sit in the saddle for a longer period of time without squirming. I was considering buying a Mustang seat for this bike and was looking on this board to see if anyone had opinions on it. I've never heard of an Ultimate seat, will looked it up to see what I can find. I'll be reviewing this board to see if anyone else has any opinions.
The Valkyrie Riders consider the Ultimate, their seat of choice. It is their #1 seat.
I have a Diamond on my Valkyrie Interstate, as i have had on 2 Gold Wings.
I would give Des a call at Ultimate and talk directly to him and discuss your needs and desires in a new seat. He is easy to reach.
I will have a new seat by next season on my 06 Ultra.
I am going to need a new seat as well. The stock seat is fine for rides under 2 hrs but after that it starts to burn pretty bad in a few spots, almost like a helmet that doesn't fit well.
Picking a seat is almost as hard as trying to pick a nice mesh jacket, there are just too many damn choices out there and as a result I haven't bought anything!
This might be a winter project. I am hoping to do a ride down the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall so it might have to be done with the stock seat (ouch). [sm=sigh.gif]
Seats are a rough deal, I have had several including the Ultimate. I keep coming back to Mustang. I was not impressed with the Ultimate seat at all. Sold it a week afterI had it.
