Squealing Brakes
I have a 2019 SGS that I bought in the fall of 2019. Last summer I started noticing a rear brake squeal at very low speeds. Typically when I am coming to a stop light/sign, I use mostly front brake and just a bit of feathering on the rear brake in addition to gearing down. When I do this, the rear brake would squeal and sometimes I could even feel some vibration. So I brought into a dealer near me and they said the rear pad was chamfered? They fixed it (can't remember what they said they did - not a pad replacement), and I was good to go.
Squealing went away for maybe 500 kilometers and then started again. Well, it was the end of the season, so I didn't bother taking it back in.
Now, in 2021, it is still squealing, but I am also noticing the front brakes to squeal once in a while too! Not nearly as often as the rear, but still super annoying.
I am going to make a service appointment, but looking for any advice on what the actual problem may be? Should I just replace the pads with something other than HD? Or do you think something else could be going on? Cleary, I'm not very mechanical, so that's why I'm hoping someone with knowledge can offer some advice. I just don't want the dealership to feed me a line of BS.
For reference I have 4700km (~3000 miles) on the bike.
Thanks for your help!
