Default 2010 FLHT adjustable backrest not working

Hi yall!

By the previous owner of my bike the adjustable backrest kit has been installed, just like this one:
https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...it/p/52596-09A

But it doesn't work: seems that the problem is in that pneumatic (?) adjuster or whatever it is called. Disassembled the mechanism trying to find out if the problem may be in the cable or somewhere, but seems that this tube thing itself is broken.

Cannot fing the part number nor the part itself for sale, anyone knows the exact number? Or maybe there are some ways to fix it?

I see you bought it last July. Has it never worked or did it just stop working? I'm not sure but it looks like a gas charged shock that extends when you pull the lever. Sounds like it lost its charge.
