I often ski Co and due to the jet stream this year I feel like going for another ski trip...on scooter. I sold my 19 F150 to vroom for what I paid! 48K miles for 20 months. Of course, if snow or ice nails me I will pause until dry. I am planning this trip...
It's 500 miles each way and I will get roadside assistance insurance Geico and AAA. My 2000UC has 131K miles and 95in upgrade. Hope it does 1000 miles.
This is an old mans bucket list trip for spring skiing. SE CO is beautiful and will watch for deer, elk, ice and snow along with distracted drivers. Can stay in hotel when required.
Just got back from ride today up to Evergreen. Roads were clear and mostly dry. Don’t know which ski area you are going to, but forecast for next week is a few nights down to freezing. If you wait until 9 a.m. you should be fine, but always be careful in the curves. This time of year there is a lot of sand and pea gravel in the corners from the attempts at increasing traction. That stuff acts like ball bearings under motorcycle tires.
If it were me, I’d find a different way to carry the skis. I have seen several videos where things sticking out on the sides get hooked on something and create major problems. Have you considered renting skis when you get here? Might be safer.
