'12 flhx....side covers are getting shiny over the years. Is there a way to restore back to original?

If I'm not correct, I thought that was one of the caveats of the Denim Paint that everybody wanted. You know, the "worn in and ridden" look!

Only way is a complete repaint with a flat clear.

I'm sure it's the pants rubbing the paint over time.

I kinda thought so. Just wanted to see if something has changed. Or maybe a new product out. I suppose there's no harm in getting a rattle can (John Deere) and clear and give it a try. I think the clear is like Matte finish or something like that.

Not gonna loom right but you might be able to get close. If my memory serves me the original was a special PPG clear.

there is a flattening agent you can put in the clear coat to get that finish, it might be something you ask a body shop to do, it should not take a lot of time, but it might not be cheap unless they have some on hand ... the Deltron DX685 is almost $100/quart, Transtar is cheaper but I don't consider Transtar a good product for long term/high end use

The dx685 might get it close but thats not what was used originally.

The Denim paint jobs are supposed to do that. They equate it to your denim jeans. They wear and change color some as they are worn.
