Like others said, I used new exhaust gaskets... Also use something like the blue painters tape to cover any chrome etc during the install to prevent scratching and banging stuff up. Also use something like Permatex ultra Copper to seal the muffs to the head pipes. Lastly, I would ditch those Rinehart muffler clamps and go with a good T Bar style clamp like SuperTrapp and others make. I couldnt get those Rinehart clmaps to get down tight enough because they use a small allen wrench and the wrench wanted to round.. The Tbar style uses a socket over a nut to tighten down..Can get it alot tighter to get those connections rock solid.. Of course your mileage may vary.. Good luck!

mine had the same gap. I trimmed down the head pipe with a power grinder and it closed the gap.

I am with you on the clamps...have the same issue. I thought since I used some of the Permatex Copper stuff that I would be good to go.

Check header nuts often. Had to tighten a little even after 4500 miles. I ground down a socket to fit better on the rear pipe. Other than that, great fit, finish and a sound all their own.

i'm assuming you meant at the area where the head pipe and the muffler connect? i might have to give that a try. the gap drives my wife nuts (she's kinda a perfectionist that way)
