Going to install true duals on my 07RKC. I know... they are loud, but the ol' lady said they sounded sexy. That sold me - LOL. Any install advice/tricks? Have not found a write-up on the web so if you know a link I would appreciate it.
Hoping the Big Sucker and pipes will wake up thescoot a bit.
Just follow the instructions to a T. Fit and finish is top notch which in turn make's for a easy install. Take your time and keep it clean. Use some high twp gasket sealer between the mufflers and head pipes as they recommend in the instructions. Remember, don't work on these things as you would a chevy V-8, it's more like a surgery, cover the parts of the bike that your not working on....good luck, any problem's just ask here, alot of us have installed them. Putt
Just put them on my 07 Road Glide Last night. They freakin sound awesome. Make sure that you have a 1/2" crows foot for the nuts connecting the head pipes to the cylinder.
Oh, and if you haven't bought them yet you might want to give Eastern Performance Cycles a call. I got the True Duals and ThunderMax ECM for $699 each with free shipping.
before starting the bike and after installation....wipe everything down with windex and dry before starting....this will help eliminate the smug marks, fingerprints, etc from burning in.
I've installed two sets of Rinehart True Duals. Just take your time and follow the instructions as has been mentioned. It is not a difficult job at all.
Keep an eye on the clearance between the right side rear axle and the muffler. You may have to loosen the two bolts holding the rear hanger, push the muffler away from the axle, and retighten the bolts. I have had to do that on one of my bikes.
The only issues I ever had with the Rineharts were the tips turning purple, and the clearance between the frame and primary for the left(rear) head pipe.
It is very tight where the rear head pipe bends down over the top of the primary cover, and if you don't align it well it will rub and do some damage. I ended up using some pieces of wood as wedges to hold it in place, then I tightened down all the clamps, removed the clamps and it was right in the middle of the clearance opening.
The tips turning purple is just something that all Rineharts do, and apparently will always do.

I ordered from them. $689 delivered. They are a board sponsor and have a great price. All good info guys. Thanks for it! Crows foot is a good call. I'll pick one up. Any chance to buy a new tool... LOL
the install went really easy on my wife's bike (she does her own wrenching, thats the deal for having her own bike). the hardest part was removing the stock exhaust. the only thing i don't like is the heat shield on the left pipe doesn't fit quite the way i think it should. it looks good until you press it down over the torca clamp, which then moves it back about a half inch so it leaves a gap between the muffler taper and the heat shield. we've tried like a dozen times to fix that, but to no avail.
