Cooling a Milwaukee 8 RoadGlide
2020 RoadGlide Special, 114 ci., Dynojet PC-V with DJ EFI Map for Stage-1, Rinehart Slimline Duals, Rinehart 4" Muffs, Rinehart/Arlen Ness High Flow intake.
Winter of 2020, I added lower fairings. Helps keep my legs warm & dry. Chaps were okay but fairings are great. Most riding is mountains and highway but occasionally gotta pass through town for a beer. Stop lights and traffic are my enemy.
Issue:
Now that it's summer in Virginia, temps can reach upper 90s and I can tell my oil/engine is heating up (300+ deg) and loosing viscosity. Can hear the metal talking and my inner thighs are burning.
Solutions:
Remove my lower fairings to allow more airflow. Would rather not do this.
Get the bike on a Dyno for a better tune? Definately!
Add cooling deflector wings from DK - https://www.dkcustomproducts.com/ult...-reduction.htm (usually requires a tank lift, yuk)
Add new or supplemental oil cooler from DK - https://www.dkcustomproducts.com/200...ls-c159-98.htm
Get high flow, permanent oil filter to replace paper HD filters.
How you can help:
Offer solutions based on your experience and knowledge.
Respectfully,
~Gabe

its kind of an art...
if you need even more cooling you can go open-loop, but mileage will suffer.
