Fuelmoto is an awesome company. While I don’t have specifics on the kits in question I can tell you that Fuelmoto can advise you better. You may be able to get the 110 S&S Sidewider kit from Eastern Performance for about the same price. Fuelmoto might match Eastern’s price on a 110.

I went from a 96 to 110 on my 2010 SG, along with other mods, see signature below. So glad I did. She rocks now.

BTW, thank you for your service!

All you need to do is justify to yourself whether the juice is worth the squeeze on the upgrade of a total of 4 cu. in. to your 103. All the specs on each kit, I believe, are on their websites but I haven't looked lately.
If it is, then absolutely go for it!

You probably won't find a higher recommended company. Check them out on fb. They are also posting good content.

Keep in mind it’s not just 4 cubic inches, it’s what you swap out with it like cams, pistons, jugs and the tune.

At 50,000 miles on my 2012 FLHTC, the motor was getting super noisy and found out I had to replace the lifters. After an expensive quote for the lifter replacement, I decided to go with the Fuel Moto 107 standard Big Bore. Had it broke in and tuned on the dyno with power vision. It got 99 hp and 119 tq. I really enjoy the increased power. I have 12,000 miles on the build and it's running great.

as others have said, you can't go wrong with Jamie and FuelMoto.

It is just a matter of what you are expecting out of the bike.... everything works together.... the heads, cams and exhaust all have to work together (be matched so they are all making power in the same range) along with the displacement and compression ratio.

Personally I'd PM @fuelmoto or call them to go over your options.... you may want to read up on "square" motors, that is when the bore and stroke are near equal, and a 107 is iirc square... 103 (under square) behaves differently than square (107) and over square (110)

If you don't match the parts (and tune) so that things work together.... like you have cams that are happy at 3500 to red line, and your heads are machined for off idle to 3500 (low end torque) then you are tossing money away and will be wondering why the bike does not due what you expected.

You may find after talking to Jamie that you can slide new pistons into your 103 with some cams and a good canned map and be happy, the 103 can easily do 110 HP/110 torque with the right parts

speed/torque/HP gains are all a function of how much you want to spend

The nice thing about changing displacement is when selecting pistons you can pick your compression ratio. Compression ratio is critical to match with the cam. A high performance cam designed for 10.5:1 or up will be disappointing in a stock compression bike. Decide how you want the bike to perform when selecting a cam...how you use the bike factors in cam choice too. Touring an casual riding fit a low end early torque cam. Racing a top end high rpm cam, I chose a cam that offered early torque an solid mid range an in return I lost some on the top end.

Decide your budget an talk to Fuel Moto. I got my power vision tuner there an my mid pipe. On a budget the minimum is a tuner, exhaust, cam. The displacement kit adds roughly a grand to it. If you want to slap a set of cams in an tune it the andrews 48's are hard to beat. Fuel moto did a cam shoot out that's in the threads at the top of the touring forum you can look at the results an numbers the rpm range you plan to ride an make a decision.

Also I read somewhere about boring the cylinders helps the motor breath by unshrouding the valves near the piston walls.

Man lots to think about and look into. I think I’m definitely going to give them a call and see what we can work out

It's not worth spending a bunch of money for an additional 4 cu in, or even 7 for that matter. Better off to figure out what sort of performance you're looking for--low end torque vs mid range hot rod--and pick appropriate cams. Mid range might benefit some from some head work, but otherwise I'd consider leaving them alone--maybe swap to thinner head gaskets if you need more compression. You can get 90% or more of the benefits for a small fraction of the money, and once the newness has worn off you'll never notice the difference out riding unless you're the type to really rod the hell out of it daily.

Unless you've got money burning a hole in your pocket and want dyno numbers to brag about--in which case, go crazy!
