I have a RK 2019 model and found the buffeting very bad, better if I lean forward and even better when I lean forward and drop my head a little but NOT ideal. I have found a replacement screen from Freedom and looking at reviews etc. and comments seems a good option. However they are in USA and I'm in blightly (UK). So before I commit has anyone fitted the H-D Detachable Wind Splitter Vented Windshield to a Road King and what is there assessment. Price wise the Freedom comes in slightly cheaper than the HD item howver if I need to return or have an issue the HD option would be the best option.

Appreciate your views and comments. RB
Works great, you can adjust the vent to minimize buffeting for our height and helmet setup.
I purchased the H-D windsplitter and was not impressed with it, especially in the rain. I enjoy the freedom CVO much better. One thing to keep in mind, to eliminate wind buffeting you will need to purchase some fork fangs, since the wind is coming from underneath the tank.
Yep, try the fork fangs first before getting a different windshield. That may solve all of your issues. They got rid of almost all of the buffeting on my 2019 King.

Yes, they work great, they completely solved my buffeting except yesterday when it was almost 100° and they pretty much blocked all the wind on my body, I carry a 1/2 wrench and take them off when it gets too hot then just put them in my saddle bags, takes about 2 minutes to take them off or put them on. They're great when it's cold.
I have the windspiltter……I’m 6’2” (don’t know my height in metrics), and for me, all it does is take the wind off my chest. I’ve tried adjusting the vent to get the air to flow over me, but I really don’t feel any difference. I recently took about a 600 mile trip with the windsplitter, and it did relieve the strain of “hanging on”, but as far as any helmet buffeting, it don’t work for me. I do have fangs, and like blap stated, I take them off in the summer and put them on in the winter. It helps a little, but nothing really significant. If you really want smooth air, I’m afraid the bat wing, or a fairing like the RK is the only way to go. Good luck, and cheers!
Thanks for the replies and comments; they are useful. Just for additional info I'm 6 feet so 1.8m in height and I have fitted a HD Hammock seat which does sit more slightly higher than the standard seat. Will look into these fork fang things then and perhaps go from there and update all on my views.
I just cancelled an order from them. I hear they're awesome shields, but I wasn't willing to wait months (yes, months) for the shield. If You're wanting a light tint, You're totally ****ed. Materials stuck at a railyard indefinitely. They're made to order, none stocked. Just a FYI.
. With no choice, I went Clearview. Shipped the very next day, be here Monday.
