Anyone replace the front and rear shocks on their Street Glide? Pros and cons? Thank you...

Damn it Jim, I'm not a Doctor.

I had a brain fart and didn't even think to do a search. Thank you and stay safe.

I did a search on "Aftermarket Shocks" and started reading posts. From a quick read, sounds like replacing stock shocks is the way to go. kel03, thank you for directing me back to the search function.

Only about 15,000 of us.

Pros? Greatly improved ride comfort and some handling gains

Cons? A lighter wallet

If the wallet is already light you can try replacing fluids first.

I’m pretty happy with my $549 JRI shocks.

I currently have the Pro Actions Street Series Shock from DK Custom for the rear. Before the Pro Action I ran Progressive Suspension 944 Ultra Low Shocks. Very happy with the Pro Action.

Lots of great providers out there…you’ll see 2-3 names commonly mentioned.
My tip would be this…. Budget front and rear at the same time.
You will come to realize, like I and many others have. As soon as you upgrade the rear, which is easy because it’s jack up, unbolt and bolt on, you’ll see how poor the front end is.
Different companies have different answers for the front, from a revalve and oil weight/height change to a complete insert assembly (Also called a cartridge)

Budget is key here…. Like anything else in aftermarket…mild to wild.

Good luck. I spent my Money first on suspension, seat/ bars and windshield for comfort. Power/Noise/engine performance are secondary to me.

I just put 13" ProActions on mine.
Pros... Everything..
Cons.. Nothing.

I did replace the front suspension on my '09 Ultra with Axxian AK-20 Cartridges. Again
Pros... Everything..
Cons.. Nothing.
