Really... Harley can't sell a single Livewire, but you think within 5 years all their bikes even their most popular touring bikes will be electric? Fat Chance....

What a beautiful bike... How do you like the 131 over the 117? Worth it? Also, what seat is that? My wife would like something a bit wider then the CVO passenger pillion.

That is not true. I had an '09 and sold it in spring. My local dealers had no issues working on my 10+ year old bike. That is very limited dealers that do that.

electric is a reality. Dont get me wrong, I love all my internal combustion engines. I have vintage bikes and all the gas tools, BUT, I see 5 electric cars on my personal street now. I see the reality, electric is coming in strong, it's still going to be 20 years and there will need to be internal combustion in remote locations etc. But electric and self driving vehicles are going to be ruling the roads in the next 20 years. Sorry, its just reality.

im very concerned and disappointed with the way the country is heading,
I work my *** off, and I’m starting to think it may be worth it to be less of a saver and more of a life enjoyer. I spend too much energy wanting to stick to my 5, 10, 20 year plan… but in the end, only the man upstairs known what’ll happen. That’s why I’m thinking screw it and buy a second bike. The sgs for the longer rides with wife and thr fatboy will be my neighborhood hot rod and day trips.

Sadly you just described 3 of my 5 nephews...

I love'em, but I am deeply disappointed in them.. and quite frankly, embarrassed by them, even though they aren't embarrassed of themselves..

Don't lower yourself to their level, stay your course... But it's OK to "stray" a little now and then, because life IS too short.. I say get the second bike if it won't cause a financial hardship..!

I worked hard, stuck to my plan, and was able to retired early @ 54 years old.. I've only had one Harley at a time, since I was 21 through retirement. For only like 8 years did I even have a garage to park my bike in...

Because I worked hard and stuck to my plan, I am now retired 10 years, and was able to build this for my current 3 bikes...

Yeah, 2023 is 120th Anniversary year. And i think the new Tourings will be released next year as they did it already in 2009 and 2014.

Ever since Indian started coming up with newer and better models, I have seen Harley upgrading their bikes. First Rushmore, M8 and other model upgrades. There was no competition for HD but with Indian on the scene HD has to give something to their base. For too long HD just did bare minimum and gave sub standard product. JMHO that HD still rides like a tractor. It shakes like crazy, ride is rough, crappy old school suspension, stiff clutch, clutch lever is far away from the grip and so unrefined that beats you up at the end of the day.

I get it that it's the character and that's what defines HD. But it's not 1960 anymore. You want to attract younger crowd you better step up. At the end of the day we consumers will benefit from this. As for me why do I ride HD ? After riding several bikes, I realized that I like big touring bikes. But at 5'5 and 130 lbs I need a reverse and HD was the only bike that has an after market reverse kit. And also has tons of after market accessories. Now I'm addicted to browsing through accessory catalog and buy something new every now and then, LOL . I could get Goldwing but it's just little bigger. It took me a while to realize H-D is a lifestyle but it’s not a superior product by any means that H-D folks who ride it think it is. It’s not even American made anymore. There are better and superior products that were developed in America and they deserve to charge premium. Definitely Not H-D.

Not sure how much share Indian is taking but they are definitely making a statement. Just hope Indian succeeds and comes with a reverse. As a consumer competition is good. This is just my observation, I may be wrong.
no one knows how much they are 'taking' because the numbers are so embarrassingly low, they will not disclose them....but I can assure you, HD isn't worried about Polaris.....they may be the only interesting US competitor, but they aren't an equal to HD in any way shape or form

there isn't a bike they offer that i'd prefer over my SG, nor do any compare to how mine performs

the tribe is cute and all, and their bobbers are totes adorbs for the ladies and smaller fellas but HD isn't worried

if you told me Indian was going belly up, i would not be surprised....if the same were said of HD, no one would believe it....two totally different companies

Thanks for that... I bought this 2019 used with 2900 miles on it a few months ago, it already had the stage IV done. My only other experience with Harley is the Fatboy that I bought new in 2018, it had the 114. Obviously this motor has more torque than the 114 did, but I’m keeping it warranty compliant for the time being so I feel like there’s probably a ton of untapped potential in it that’s left on the table. That being said it is a blast to ride, I don’t regret trading the Fatboy for a second. The seat is a Drag Specialties Predator 3 , and I’ve put probably 4k miles on it. I like the looks of it but it’s not very comfortable, I’m about 5-9 and 165 lbs and it feels like it doesn’t have a lot of padding. I did about a 900 mile round trip to Myrtle Beach and was wishing I had a different seat by time I got back home for sure...
BTW, it’s a Special, not a CVO
