Default Rear wheel question

I am working on a 97 electra glide. I put new tires front and back but now rear wheel is off center and belt sprocket rubs the shock. Spacers are on correct sides. Wheel was centered when I removed it. Any ideas what I could have done wrong?

What could be sideways? Isn't it just the axle and spacers? I didn't remove anything but wheel

You have the spacers in the wrong location. Check out Ronnies Microfiche :

This ^^^^^. Left and right spacers are different plus they have a side that faces the wheel and a side that faces the swing arm. At least on my 07.

If I switch sides with the spacers the wheel wouldn't fit at all it will hit the swing arm on the left (looking at it from rear). I thought of that but it is not an option

Thanks. I didn't know the spacers were directional. I know they are on the correct sides but I will check that out after work.

I am guessing you are missing a spacer. Your bike has tapered bearings , and one of the spacers usually stays in the grease seal when removed. There is a good chance the spacer fell out when the tire was being installed on the wheel.

Could be that too. The first time I removed my rear wheel I did not see the spacer fall out. Scratched my head until I looked at the drawings and noticed there was one there that I did not have. Found it on the floor, in a corner.

There should only be 1 spacer on each side correct? Or did they use multiple spacers on one side?
