When they discontinue the current touring line, they'll become collectible.
Might as well just pull the trigger. There's gonna be changes every year, and you can't wait indefinitely.
Hi guys! Anyone heard if there is major changes coming on the touring models for 2022 like a new frame to compete with the Indian frame and suspension? I am looking at adding a bike for two up riding since my wifes back cant handle riding on the Aprilia. I would hate to buy something right now if a better frame is planned for next year
This gets asked every year and every year there is a new frame and mono-shock coming. Just buy a bike and enjoy it
yeah huge change , they're going to be available in black !
...well, I heard from a guy,
that knows this guy,
that knows this guy,
that knows this guy,
that dates that guy's sister,
that knows this janitor,
who works at corporate,
that knows a guy on the line who said that......
there would be no Black bikes for 2022.
...said Harley was tired of all of the jokes and stuff over Black bikes.......
Given HD's history - it's VERY unlikely that the M8 will be replaced any time soon.
Rev-Max might augment it on the sides but the M8 has years to go before the development/tooling costs are covered. I would guess any future frame changes to the touring line would happen at the same time as the RM gets introduced as a replacement, not augmentation. Be a ways away yet.
I agree. The M8 is still "the new Harley engine." And a damned good one.

Ive been looking forward to this myself. I cant believe that H-D cant see how Indian their competition can build a bike that sits lower than street glide and still manage 5 inch suspension travel. I had Chieftain and its suspension was Lexus plush. Only reason im riding H-D is because its the only touring bike with after market reverse available that Im able to handle. Hopefully Indian comes up with reverse.
I bought a 2016 RGS in Spring of 2016 - a few months before the M8 was premiered. Did I regret it?
NO!!
I just traded this year for a host of reasons. I absolutely loved riding my "old" twin cam; as the last year for them, I experienced a trouble-free 38,000 miles with plenty of smiles per mile. No sumping, no transferring, no dripping, leaking, or burning.
Now the M8 has had a lot of the bumps ironed out - no more transfer, no more sumping.
Waiting for next year is a fools errand. When you have the coin, buy and enjoy.
