I am a new member and this is my first post. I am rehabbing a 2005 Road KIng Classic. Most of it has been pretty straightforward but there is one thing that has got me stumped. Trying to put parts back on the bike and the coil is one thing that has been removed. Problem is I can't figure out how to attach it back on the bike. I have the coil (Delphi) and I can see where some long bolts passing thru the coil (missing) attach somewhere. I can see the plug ins which are hanging loose on top of the front cylinder head. How do you attach the coil? I'm sure it just doesn't dangle there. Am I missing a bracket or something? Your help would be appreciated. Checked Youtube but can't find anything that looks like my setup. Thanks in advance.
Here is the bracket you need with the part number in case you don't have it. On my 2009 the coil is behind a panel under the battery. If you see two holes for plug wires in the black steel panel directly behind the engine the coil goes behind it. If the coil end of the wires are laying on top of the engine, maybe the coil goes under the tank. At least now you know what the bracket looks like. Hopefully someone on here with a 2005 touring bike will send a picture of how it mounts.
