I recently got a new 21in wheel on my 2011 SG w/ abs. When I put it on, I put new brake pads on but now the caliper is actually dragging the rotor. It seems like the whole wheel needs shifted +\- 1/16 of an inch to the clutch side of the bike. I reckon I put the front axle assembly back correctly.
axle, spacer with machine marks out, bearing, bearing, wheel speed sensor, bushing, washer, nut.
Ive read some other forums and tried some of the the suggestions people have given but Im still hung up. Any solutions? Inside of brake lever side. (Plenty of room) Side thats dragging (outside, brake lever side)
Pretty obvious you need two correct spacers. Was your new wheel designed fro ABS? Did you bottom correct side of wheel with the first bearing installed. Remember, that other side does not bottom. It's pressed and stops on inner spacer. Torque goes thru center. If it didn't work that way, torque for axle would be on races.
In service manual. I don't have it in my head. It's not a lot different but done wrong doubles the error.
