Cool Motorcycle Metals

I've been searching for the last week to find a more comfortable ride for me and the wife and the stock rear air shocks are HORRIBLE!!! I've searched so much everything is starting to run together and all the reviews are all the same, they are all the best. I have come across some forums that talk about a place called Motorcycle Metals run by Howard Messner and when I called and talked to him Howard seemed to know exactly what he was talking about but I was wondering if anyone here has ever ordered from him and if the shocks were what they expected them to be in comfort and fuctionality.

I'm sure there will be lots to chime in on shocks.

I spoke to Howard and he was a wealth of information but I decided to go with 13" Pro Action shocks and couldn't be happier.

I'm hoping that the Motorcycle metals are a legit good shock and really set up more for me than just ordering some from Ohlins.
I even have looked at on the fly air ride but haven't heard how comfortable they really are but I have search Ohlins HD 772, Legends zevos and Progressive 944 but can't decide what I really need and when I contact them I only get a link to a video or the info I get off the website.

Howard’s Ohlins
Legend Revo A - 13”
Pro Action - 13”

Pick one of those 3 in no particular order. Just one thing about the Ohlins is setting them up with the sag and damping is like a work of art. 1/2 turn there, full turn there now. Some guys literally make adjustments for both 1up and 2up riding. I’m personally over that…

I have Legend Revo As. Much improved ride over the stock hand adjustable emulsion shocks.
I'm not sure there are enough riders out there able to tell the difference between a well setup pro action, legend, ohlins or most of the other top shocks. To buy again I would look for the best overall buy between the top names.

I bought a set of his #3-#3 Ohlins from Howard. They were in an Ohlin's box labelled "HD 772" and "HD FL BlackLine 329"

I have no idea if he actually did anything special to them or not. They are a great shock. They were my 3rd attempt, in 6 years, at trying to find at trying to find a great shock for my Harley baggers. I'm no longer looking..... I am satisfied....

I bought mine in August of 2018. Howard offered an HD Forums discount back then, and his price was better than others I had seen for the same shock.
