It is waterproof
Has warranty 12 month
It won’t get stolen (unless you take the effort to complete uninstall)
Always within reach WITHOUT having to take your hands off the handlebar!! I think this is important especially when you drive at slower speeds towards your garage door and you definitely do not want to take your right hand from your handlebar/brake control ...
Can be operated with gloves
It is always there where you need it – on your bike
No need to find the clicker and then put in on your belt or pants every time (of course unless you wear the same pants all the time without washing them &#128522
No need to check or replace batteries because it is powered through the motorcycle
OEM style – looks like Harley add-on, feels like a Harley add-on, and tastes like a Harley add-on 😊 ….
Solid aluminum
Operates 2 garage doors or one gate & one garage door (so you do not need two “clickers”) 😊
Spouse happiness included, too
Of course there is always a cheaper alternative 😊 …
I was ready to buy this last year, until I read this: Not compatible with MyQ garage door systems

I would like to learn more about this option. Can you share more details?

I used a spare remote and soldered in a momentary switch.
Remote is located under the dash panel on my Road King, switch is on the opposite side of the odometer reset.

It's been several years so I don't remember all the details but if you have a 12 volt remote then the project is fairly easy and straightforward. Many remotes are 3V or 6V which will add some complexity to your project as you will need to add some capacitors/resistors but it is still doable.

Disclaimer: Do the research to make sure you know what you are getting into with this mod and if you choose to proceed you do so at your own risk. I take no responsibility for any damage this mod may cause.

Mine was 12V so it was fairly simple. Basically remove the battery from the remote. Pull the circuit board from the remote housing. As always, disconnect the negative battery terminal from your M/C battery before proceeding. Connect ground from battery terminal of board to good ground under fairing. Connect hot lead from high beam switch to positive terminal on board. Use a 12v. test light to locate this hot wire. Then I simply wrapped and taped the entire package into plastic zip lock bag, wire leads extending out the opening of the bag and taped well to insulate from moisture as best as possible. I live in a fairly dry climate and don't generally ride in the rain but the package is pretty safe and secure under the batwing fairing, even though it is all a very tight fit now that I've added an amplifier under there too but it all squeezes in there and like I said, it's been several years now and it has never failed to work.

If I recall there was some concern about burning out the circuit board if you ride with your brights on for any extended time because the circuit is not momentary and will be open as long as the high beams are on. I don't use my brights because I prefer the passing lights along with the low beam over the high beam only so for me it's no issue. Just something to be aware of.

Doesn't work with ALL and ANY HD bike... or other brands for that matter...

I posted this as a joke due to the content you get if you search this forum and find out the lengths bikers will go to when solving a simple problem.

A little 3M two sided molding tape, and a zip tie as a failsafe. Mounted inside the dash panel, and the zip tie loosely around the switch blanks incase the tape fails. Temporary, easy to remove, hidden, easy to use, effective, cheap.
