I have a'07 RoadGlide with cruise of course. I was in the dealership the other day and asked if you can put, or use, a throttle lock on my bike. He told me no that it is not something you want with a fuel injected bike. So my questions are these. What about fuel injected bikes without cruise? Why can't you use a lock withfuel injection? I'm not the smartest at times but I know that I don't have to warm my bike up.
I love my cruise except when riding in large groups. I've found that if I'm not in the lead, or bringing up the rear, its hard to keep the cruise on. Especially if I'm riding with people in the group who do have throttle locks because speeds seem to vary. In this type of riding I think a lock would be useful rather than cruise.
So am I up in the night, or can I put one on my bike. I see that the threaded hole for the lock is there on my '07. What do you think?
Throttles Locks aren't the safest thing going... Seen guys hit oil slicks with it locked - not a great picture... I have cruise but unless your leading the group it's more or less useless... I love my Kuryakyn ISO Grips with throttle boss... Us it 99% of the time
if it isn't something you want with a fuel injected bike, why did mine come with it? i use it sometimes, not when riding in a group, the trick is to not tighten it down so hard that you cant roll back the throttle if you need to. just use enough tension to keep the throttle from snapping back when you release it. helps keep the right hand from getting fatigued.
