Looking for opinions from the guys that use the thumb cruise twisty thing. My lil wheel broke off and when I changed my covers out didn't put it back in. Well with out cruise I am prone to tickets lol so please give your opinion on the one you use.
I don't quite get your meaning--are you referring to the stock throttle lock?
If you are, I'll say that as a carpal tunnel guy, I've been riding around the last thirty years or so with the throttle lock snugged up just enough to defeat the throttle return spring, and have had no issues (I have replaced the friction spring a couple times). I feel no need for cruise control.
There is also a device available that replaces the stock thumb wheel and locks the throttle with only a quarter turn. Again, I feel no need for it, but guys who use them seem to like them.
I notice the new bikes don't seem to have the throttle lock, just cruise. Another reason I'm not panting for a new bike!
If the little star broke off from your controls, you can order a new one from HD, not very expensive if I remember correctly.
But the Vista Cruise will work just as well, and is not very expensive, it's just bigger and is more visible.
I use the little star on mine, but have a little aluminum extender attached to that lets me easily flick it on or off easily. The product is called Throttle Mate (http://www.throttlemate.com/staticpa....php/more_info) , it looks like a little narrow paddle that fits over the star wheel and places the paddle where it's very easy to use.

Thanks for that link and I will be ordering one. I have a plastic lever that attaches to the throttle lock which helps but this looks much more effective.
I have had a cruise buddy on my Deuce for a long time. A must for a long ride on any freeway riding/straight line riding. I have carpal tunnel also and it is a very big help.
[quote=caberto;10875119]I think the product you're looking for is called Vista Cruise (http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/vi...07-4046-HARLEY). I had one on one of my previous bikes, and it does the intended job well.
I got to checking into this and doesn't seem they make one for chubby bars (Wild Ones)????
