103 Upgrade for Torque
Ok guys I have a 2009 FLHTP (po po electra glide) I would like more off the line acceleration, especially when two up, and hill climbing ability. Right now it has a 103" motor and I don't have the budget to go 107 or larger but I do have the budget for cam, heads and maybe 2-1 exhaust. I have 4" rinehart slip-on w/o converters, S&S stealth ac and PowerVision tuner. Looking through the Fuel Moto cam shoot out (big shout out to Jamie) I have narrowed it down to the below cams and wanted input from anyone who has used these and what head upgrades you did (and dyno chart if you have it). Again trying to maximize torque from off the line to about 3500-4000 RPM range.
First Tier (Cam and Head Work and maybe .030" head gasket) S&S 583 or 551, Wood TW-222, Andrews 48.
Second Tier (future proof 107" or larger) Wood TW-777, S&S MR103, Cycle Rama 570-2
Thanks
Randy

FWIW.....
Those are all good cams.
However, for a true bolt-in cam, I've never heard anyone complain about the Andrews 48 cams. They have been a bolt-in favorite and have performed well for years...
They seem to work really well when added to Stage I mods (air cleaner & exhaust), without the need of headwork or a "bump" in compression. Of course, with any cam, you'll need a good tuner/tune to get the most benefit ...
Good luck with your decision..

I have limited experience but I did a 107" build for a guy on an 08 street glide using the 777's. Used fuelmoto for the parts and power vision tune. I know you have a 103 but it can't be far off a 107 with a similar setup...but really you're only around 700 bucks extra from going to the 107. Anyway that guys bike runs awesome, that combo from fuelmoto is very well sorted out. He had some electrical issues to get straight and I don't do electrical work very well so he brought it to a local indy and even that guy said that the bike is an animal lol. Honestly...if you have to wait a little while to get some more money in the war chest. I really think you would be really happy waiting and going for the big bore.
Andrews 48. Great torque and drivability. I activated the ACRs on mine (2009 ultra) with a power vision tuner. Use good quality lifters, and I think you will enjoy your ride.

When I had my 103 I did heads , pipes , Cycle -Rama CR575 cams which don’t require bumping your compression and that motor was a torque monster. Call Wes at Cycle-Rama. He makes great products.
