Just got my docking hardware today. Part number 53803-06. Well when I installed this on my previous bikes it came with a brace that goes from docking point to docking point. This kit did not come with the braces. I thought maybe they were just missing but the screws for the braces were not included either. Is this a change to the kit or was I shorted parts????
when i bought my road king it had all the docking hardware on it already, last week i bought the detachable back rest and in the box was a set of the brackets your talking about that go from docking point to docking point, if they are what you need i have a new set and you can have them.
Mine had them when I installed last weekend. About 98 when I bought the kit for my SuperGlide I was told by the dealer that every now and then, under hardacceration with a passenger, one side of the backrest COULD come off the front mount. I took mine off for the Ex but no such luck.
Is that the docking kit for the sissy bar. If so, the straps are not needed. They are included with the sissy bar anyway, not the docking hardware. The straps were for the old style fender.

The ones I had before came with the docking hardware. I am using my old sissy bar so I obviously don't have them. So I really don't need them now??? What do you mean by "old style fender"??
