Default RE: Change in docking hardware parts????

MM - I did the same thing you just experienced. I kept my old sissy bar from the RKC and was planning on using it for the RG. Bought the docking hardware and thought I was good to go. When I bought the bike I worked free labor for any parts I bought the day I purchased. The doscking hardware was one of them. Tech calls and tells me it's ready to be picked up, but they couldn't mount the docking hardware because they don't have the straps. Apparently they are now being included in the sissy bar upright, not the docking hardware.

I ended up buying the straps from another dealer. I still haven't installed them yet.

The straps being for an old style fender is new to me. I thought they were to help reduce the load on the rear mounting point. Not really sure though.

I think you are correct and my Docking Kit that I put on a year ago March did not have them, and the instructions even said they come with the Sissy Bar, which they did, and I installed them. I think they tie the 2 docking points together and make the whole assembly stronger. JMNSHO

The docking kit I bought last weekdid not have the straps included but the straps were packaged in with the rack. They did short me one chrome washer for the front mount points.
