When I bought my '07 RKC in September of last year, I ditched the stock seat and bought an HD Tallboy touring seat. The bike now is almost a year old and has almost 12K miles on it, but I'm thinking the seat may need to be replaced. When I first bought the seat, I could ride for 300-400 miles and still be fairly comfortable. However, I just returned from a 100-mile, 2-hour ride and my butt is numb and sore.
The HD stock seats are crap ... I know that. But how many miles are you guys getting out of a premium seat before it needs replacement? A riding buddy of mine said that he changes seats when he changes tires. Is that a good rule of thumb?
