Here in NYS, "The legal standard for reflective equipment on a motorcycle is one red reflector attached to the rear of the vehicle and facing backward. The reflector must be red. The law does, however, allow for the reflector to be a built-in part of the motorcycle’s tail light." The rear one is still in place, but the rest are history.

The real question is, why hasn't the MoCo already come up with some sort of actual electric lighting for the sides of our bikes that is standard? Something that can blend in and looks cool/nice and functions as a side mounted turn signal as well? They could be hidden from the riders line of sight so as to not be distracting, but seen by dumbass cage drivers. Especially with today's LED technology available. Options abound! If I remember correctly, it was in like 67-68 that the automotive industry started putting them on car fenders and quarter panels, and they're literally A TON bigger than motorcycles, lol!

I took mine off to make room for the flashing strobe lights, backup alarm, and locomotive horn.

What we really need is some legislation requiring all firearms to have engraved arrows all over them so we know which way to point them. Just an idea that I got from that Baldwin fella.

The reflectors are there for compliance, they're not pleasing to the eye. Remove them and go without or install better lighting for improved visibility.
I installed the kit to convert my turn signals into running/brake lights. But I also still have the reflectors for the same reason my mattresses still have tags.

They are inconspicuous and it's not worth wasting time to remove them.

I'm in Unionville. Closer to GOTL than Concord. I deliver to Avery Dennison there occasionally. Your ever up near here shoot me a PM.

Funny story. I hated all blacked out bikes. When it came time for a new one. Only way to get the 114 was buy a special. So I embraced that ****. Lol. Figured if I was doing it. I was going all in. Tried to make an all black bike that actually stands out from the rest. Don't know if I did. But it gets a lot of attention.

True enough, but as you have seen here, not everybody will agree with their effectiveness, and/or if they are actually necessary...

Pretty much the same with any debate these days.....

The great thing about America is being free to think for yourself, evaluate risk, and then make your own choice... well, at least you used to...

More and more, people are being condemned for not "agreeing" with the mob mentality or popular narrative..... kind of sad really...

For me, the reflectors don't bother me a bit. I always leave them on. In fact, once I changed out my lower fork legs and purchased new reflectors to put on those... I ordered the reflectors online and was thinking if I was the only person who ever ordered the fork reflectors from them...??

Again, just my preference, do as you please......

I didn’t realize so many people hated reflectors.

This means I’m definitely leaving mine on.

At an angle in the near distance, nobody can see a reflector on the side of a bike so that isn't the issue here. You can only see a reflector when it is right at 90 degrees right in front of your face and at speed the reflector is only going to visible for a split second. She just wasn't paying any attention to the road and conditions around her. Reflectors are for the Lawyer crowd!
