Just bought a second hand Security Siren for my 2019 Road King Special, Followed the instruction from HD but no sound, Bought a new battery and still no sound
Do l need to active it or is there any way l can test it ?
No chirping on arm/disarm or no sound if you move the bike around without the fob present? There's a way to make it "chirpless" but that just silences the 1 or 2 chirps on arming/disarming. But if you move the bike around without the fobs present it should still give you a "warning" chirp... keep moving it and it goes solid lol You might try this in the off chance its in chirpless mode and I do not remember doing anything other than installing it, then putting the fuse back in and turning the bike on... then back off and it had a sick sounding chirp on arming (until battery was fully charged).
SIREN CHIRP MODE
Chirpless Mode
In the chirpless mode, the siren does not chirp on arming or disarming.
NOTE
Even when armed in the chirpless mode, the siren still chirps warnings on movement and activates the alarm through cycles.
Chirp Mode
On arming in the chirp mode, the siren responds with two chirps. When disarming, the siren responds with a single chirp.
Switching Modes
Quickly cycling ignition switch ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON
switches the system from one mode to the other.
1. With the fob present, turn the ignition switch to IGNITION.
2. When the security lamp turns off, turn the ignition switch to OFF.
3. When the security lamp turns off (but before the turn signals flash twice), immediately turn the ignition switch to IGNITION.
4. When the security lamp turns off, immediately turn the ignition switch to OFF.
5. When the security lamp turns off (but before the turn signals flash twice), immediately turn the ignition switch to IGNITION.
1. It's a second hand siren. Did you hear it work before you bought it? Maybe it wasn't in working order and you bought a bad siren???
2. Are you sure the new battery you put in is charged? Did you test the battery?

No l didn't but it was advertised as working, Think its no good but wanted to check if l could test it or l needed to activate it somehow ?
Brand new battery and yes l tested it.
On Canbus bikes with a BCM, you need to flash (enable) many add-ons with either the Dealer Digital Tech 2, or one of the comparable aftermarket diagnostic tools... But I don't believe the security siren is one of those. I believe it is supposed to be plug and play...
You may want to call a dealer just to be sure....
NOTE: I just checked my Twin Scan 4 diagnostic tool. It doesn't show a security siren enabling feature, just the other security stuff (enable/disable security module, add FOBS, change PIN, etc). The Twin Scan 4 is one of the cheaper aftermarket tools, so that isn't proof positive that the siren is plug & play...
