Although you ground off that “key”, did the plastic rocker cover still snap back into place?
Hopefully a good simple fix.

Yes, the key just assures "proper" orientation. The cover still snaps back in place (snaps are on the inside sides of the button cover).

For clarification for others, you need to remove the lower dash panel, remove the switch pack itself, and then remove the button from the switch pack in order to complete this reversal.
